Massacre & Memory Tour

Private Walking Tour 2

This half-mile guided walking tour explores the circumstances and events that led to the Boston Massacre, examines how the people responded to it at the time, and explores the ways later generations remembered and used the history of the Boston Massacre. This 75-minute outdoor tour includes entry to the Old State House and Old South Meeting House. Also available in virtual format.

Ages/Grades: Recommended for ages 10+ / Grades 6 through 12+

Location: Tours depart from the Old State House and conclude at Old South Meeting House

Time: 75 minutes + time to explore museums (approximately 60 minutes)

Group Size: 20-person maximum per tour group. Larger groups can be accommodated with prior preparation. Please contact Revolutionary Spaces for more information.

Facilitator: Walking tours are led by a dedicated and knowledgeable member of Revolutionary Spaces' Visitor Experience team.

Student/Youth Groups (Grades 5-12): $11 per person

College/Grad Student Groups: $13 per person

Adult/Senior Groups: $15 per person

Minimum: $200 per tour

Virtual Format: $200 flat rate per presentation

Inclusions: All day general admission to the Old State House and Old South Meeting House

Slavery & Resistance in Colonial Massachusetts

Discover the untold history of slavery and resistance in colonial Massachusetts on Revolutionary Spaces' new 60-minute guided tour, delving into the lives of enslaved individuals in Boston amidst the backdrop of burgeoning revolution. Explore how slavery took root in Massachusetts, distinct from southern plantation-style enslavement, and hear captivating tales of defiance from figures like Scipio Gunney, Phillis Wheatley, Zipporah Potter Atkins, and Belinda Sutton. Slavery & Resistance is available for private group bookings Sundays through Wednesdays and includes entry to both the Old State House and Old South Meeting House.
