Join Revolutionary Spaces and the Adams Presidential Center on Thursday, May 21 at the Old State House for a conversation that bridges past and present. Explore how women have shaped moments of consequence in American history and continue to do so today. This evening will center on two influential voices of the Revolutionary era: Abigail Adams and Mercy Otis Warren. Through their writings, advocacy, and political insight, both women helped define the ideals and debates of a nation in formation.
The program will be moderated by Liz Covart, host of the podcast Ben Franklin’s World, in conversation with Massachusetts Historical Society historian Sara Georgini and Nancy Rubin Stuart, author of The Muse of the Revolution. Together, these engaging panelists will examine the lives and legacies of Adams and Warren while drawing connections to women navigating their own consequential moments throughout history.
Presented in partnership with the Adams Presidential Center, this event is free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of the Lowell Institute and the New England Women’s Club Fund.
Doors will open at 6:00 PM and the program will begin at 6:30 PM. Refreshments will be provided. Seating for this event is limited and priority access is available for Revolutionary Spaces members.
For those unable to attend in person, Abigail Adams and Mercy Otis Warren: Consequential Women in Consequential Times will be livestreamed. A link to watch this program will be emailed to livestream registrants at a later date.
