"Boo!"
– The Ghost of James Otis, Jr., RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!
Come little children, I’ll take thee away… to another EPIC History Slam at Revolutionary Spaces! The Midnight Society meets high-pressure flash presentations on your favorite bits of haunted, creepy, or just plain weird history. If you’re not afraid of the dark, sign up to spook us out!
We challenge our historians and storytellers to up their game for the prize of an adoring (and terrified) crowd and a seasonally festive gift basket (think pumpkin spice goodies and other delicious stuff). The Halloween gauntlet: a bombastic, five-minute talk with ten slides showcasing a creepy, history-based tale worthy of October in New England. Let’s show Salem where the screams really are! (They’re at Old South Meeting House on October 20th)
Beer, soda, and excellent snacks will also be available. Historical-inspired costumes not required but obviously encouraged. When else can you dress up like a Sanderson Sister in an 18th Century meeting house? We might even have a Halloween treat for a clever costume or two.
Admission is free. Drink tickets are $5 on site.
The program is generously supported by the Lowell Institute.
